Very nice there. Near Rees and Xanten (climatic health resort). Two beautiful small towns on the Lower Rhine. Anhalter Schweiz (animal park) not far from Rees.
We have been here at the campsite (Aila) over Pentecost for several years now. Sometimes there are just two people, sometimes with kids and even grandma has accompanied us. For all of us, this is an absolute place to switch off and escape the stress of everyday life. The whole atmosphere (and the surroundings) is great, the staff is friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities are clean and it is quiet at night. If you want to enjoy absolute peace and quiet, you should look for a private beach where it is best not to have children, because they move around a lot and enjoy life (sometimes loudly). If you place a lot of value on WiFi, you should look elsewhere. WiFi is expensive everywhere, no matter the location or city, and it is not always well developed everywhere. I think it's good that dogs aren't allowed to run around everywhere there, good. But for us this is not a criterion for recovering! I can't understand the negative reviews here and it's clear to us: we're looking forward to coming to you in the next few years!
Is there anything more beautiful than watching such a beautiful sunrise in the early hours of the morning? I have it right on my doorstep. With the lake next to it, I don't have to drive far away. Go there after work and every day is like a vacation. I can relax there. Nice people in a pleasant atmosphere.
The tide has turned.
After I asked why an electricity bill was so high despite the fact that I wasn't on the property, which was closed for a while due to Corona,
no clarification came...
but the termination.
I can no longer make any recommendations. Unfriendly treatment since that day.
So the campsite itself is quite nice, although you can see that the place is a bit older (that's not a bad thing). There are mostly long-term campers there, but there is a very nice beach with options such as, pedal boats, stand-up for a fee. But it's worth it to relax and spend a few nice days.
Or convince yourself of it
Great campsite by the lake. Very nice for families with children. Price/performance top
A paradise for children!
We booked one of the four barrels and visited for seven days.
The barrel is quite small but still comfortable. We occupied three of the four beds (a child, a baby and two adults). We used the fourth bed as storage because there was no other storage space or shelf.
Each barrel had a pretty little table and bench combination on which we could enjoy our meals wonderfully in the open air. Fresh bread rolls were available in the shop on the campsite and we took care of everything else ourselves.
Right before barreling we had free access to the kitchen, with a fridge, hob and sink. Even the washing machine and dryer could be used with a coin slot.
The toilets and shower rooms were also in the immediate vicinity. Everything included in the price and freely accessible.
The beautiful sandy beach including a lawn was only a few meters away. There was also a great range of water activities here, such as pedal boating, stand up paddling, water slides and aqua park course. There was also a beach bar that provided us with drinks, ice cream and chips.
The entire campsite is very well maintained and clean. We were able to walk barefoot without any problem and didn't have to worry at all.
There are several playgrounds and also all-day childcare or programs for children, such as football, crafts or simply things that the little ones feel like doing. On some days the children are picked up directly from the barrel, because the entertainer drives around the entire campsite around 10 a.m. and collects all the children 😉
Bicycle and cart rental, as well as a bowling alley and bowling alley are also available. Everything fine!
